Internationally acclaimed cellist Alexander Chaushian will join the stellar lineup of the Eurasian Stars International Music Festival 2025, bringing his passionate artistry and refined technique to audiences in Central Asia. Widely recognized as one of the leading cellists of his generation, Chaushian’s appearance is set to be one of the most anticipated moments of this year’s festival.

Widely recognized as one of the leading cellists of his generation, Chaushian’s appearance is set to be one of the most anticipated moments of this year’s festival.
The Eurasian Stars International Music Festival is proud to welcome Alexander Chaushian to its 2025 edition. Taking place from September 22 to October 3, the festival will feature Chaushian in a series of performances at prestigious venues such as the Palace of International Forums and the Turkistan Concert Hall. Known for his expressive depth and charismatic stage presence, Chaushian's debut at the festival marks a powerful addition to the festival’s expanding international reach.
Chaushian has performed extensively as a soloist across the globe with world-renowned ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia, Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, and the Boston Pops. His performances have captivated audiences in major venues from London’s Royal Festival Hall and Vienna’s Konzerthaus to Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Carnegie Hall in New York.
In addition to his solo career, Chaushian is a passionate advocate for chamber music. He is the Artistic Director of both the International Pharos Chamber Music Festival in Cyprus and the Yerevan Music Festival in Armenia—two key platforms for musical exchange and collaboration that reflect his deep commitment to artistic dialogue.
Trained in Armenia, the UK, and Germany, Chaushian’s early studies included time at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Guildhall School in London, followed by postgraduate training at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. He is a laureate of prestigious competitions, including the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow and the ARD Competition in Munich. As an alumnus of Young Concert Artists, New York, he has toured widely throughout the United States.
Over the years, Chaushian has shared the stage with numerous distinguished artists, including Yehudi Menuhin, Julia Fischer, Yuri Bashmet, Diemut Poppen, and Emmanuel Pahud. His long-standing collaboration with pianist Yevgeny Sudbin has produced a series of critically acclaimed recordings on the BIS label, praised for their sensitivity and artistic insight. His most recent concerto recording with the Armenian Philharmonic was named Album of the Week by The Independent.
Chaushian’s 2024/25 season includes performances across Europe, Asia, and South America, with engagements in France, Italy, Switzerland, Brazil, China, and Japan—reinforcing his reputation as a truly global ambassador of the cello.
