Alibek Kabdurakhmanov will appear with George Frideric Handel’s opera Tamerlano in Musikverein
On 9 April 2026, Alibek Kabdurakhmanov, Artistic Director of Eurasian Stars, will lead a major concert performance at the Musikverein in Vienna, one of the world’s most prestigious concert halls.
Kabdurakhmanov will conduct the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan in the premiere concert version of George Frideric Handel’s opera Tamerlano, presented at the initiative of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF). This performance marks the first time the production is heard as an independent concert interpretation, following its earlier fully staged presentations.
With a contemporary musical interpretation by Kirill Richter, the concert brings new depth to Handel’s masterpiece while honoring its Baroque foundations. The event highlights Kabdurakhmanov’s artistic vision and reinforces his role as a key figure in international cultural dialogue, uniting Central Asian performing traditions with Europe’s classical heritage on an iconic stage.
